Visitor Tips
Arrive before 10 AM to see the manatee rehabilitation area before crowds build. The penguin habitat stays cool and comfortable all day, making it a good midday stop when temperatures peak. Budget at least 4 hours if you want to cover both the wildlife areas and rides. Annual pass holders get early access to rescue exhibits on select weekdays.

SeaWorld's Manatee Rehabilitation Program is one of the largest in the United States. The park operates as a critical care facility for injured manatees, treating watercraft strikes, cold stress, and red tide exposure. Manatees are listed as Threatened under the Endangered Species Act, and boat strikes remain their leading cause of injury. SeaWorld works with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to stabilize, treat, and release manatees back into Florida waterways. The facility has returned over 800 manatees to the wild since the program began.

Where it loses points: the theme park atmosphere can overshadow the conservation message, and some exhibits feel more commercial than educational. If you focus your visit on the rescue and rehabilitation areas, this is one of the best wildlife experiences in Florida.
